Another reviewer summed it up pretty well, this book is biased (but what do you expect from the title)."My principal concern," writes John Mac Arthur, "is to call the church to a firm commitment to the purity and authority of the Scriptures, and thereby to strengthen the unity of the true church." To tough questions that seem to divide, Charismatic Chaos provides tougher answers that strive to unite. The purpose of this book is to prove that charismatics are wrong and he takes the most extreme examples to prove his points. This book tackles such questions as - Is experience a valid test of truth? This does make for an entertaining read, but as someone who was raised in these types of churches, from my experience the majority of what he says never happens or were pretty rare events.Mac Arthur concludes with a discussion on tongues and their applicability today, what true sanctification is, and finishes off with a refutation of the false prosperity gospel. In short, this was an excellent treatment of many serious issues that are plaguing the church today that no one seems to be talking about.
